If you are here legally, you are protected

To get what you want, STOP doing what isn’t working.
Earl Warren-Supreme Court Justice

A little item on page A16 today in the St. Louis Post Dispatch under the headline, Justices block Deportations for minor drug convictions.

In a 9-0 decision, the justices said that a legal alien was wrongfully deported because of his possession of a single marijuana cigarette and one antidepressant pill.

That makes sense. Anyone who comes to this country legally should receive a little slack; however, that should not be the criteria for illegal aliens. Anyone entering this country illegally should at the least face immediate deportation. If any crime is involved, they should face criminal prosecution along with a fine and imprisonment if convicted – then deportation.

This is not brain surgery. Somewhere around 70% of the American citizens understand it. Why is it so difficult for both Democrat and Republican congresspersons to understand?
